Former two-time World Champion Hee-Jung Yuh won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens Intercontinental Super Flyweight title on Sunday, November 10, at Paju City Hall in Seoul, South Korea, when she narrowly defeated Chinas Li Ping Shi.

Now on a four-fight winning-streak since coming up short in a challenge for the WBO Bantamweight title in October of 2015, 38-year-old Yuh is on a mission to win her third world championship. And she is still on track, after a scrappy but ultimately successful effort against Shi.

After ten rounds of boxing, judges Man-Deuk Kwon and Yeong Bok Park both had the local favourite winning by six rounds to four, 96-94, while judge Kyung-Han Lee had it 97-96, or four rounds to three with three stanzas even.

The new WBF Intercontinental Champion improved her professional record to 19-3 (9), and is now in prime position to possibly fight for the WBF World Super Flyweight title in 2018. Li Ping Shi, only nineteen years old and still with a bright future in the ring, drops to 7-2-1 (3).

The fight was promoted by Keun Dong Su Bu Promotion.
