Current World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Super Welterweight Champion Andreas Valavanis will return to his natural weight class to fight for the vacant WBF Intercontinental Welterweight title on Tuesday July 18 on a WBF Championship twin-bill at Fitbox Corner in Cairo, Egypt.

King Cheetah” Valavanis, spotting a perfect 8-0 (8) record, will take on seasoned former Tanzanian Champion Omari Ramadan, who brings a stellar 14-9-2 (10) ledger and is known to have considerable power in both hands too. Chances are this fight will not go the full distance!

In February of 2016 Valavanis started his impressive title-run by winning the Egyptian International title in only his second professional fight. Four months later he captured the WBF All Africa Welterweight title, and last December he added the WBF International Super Welterweight crown to his resume.

Should the 25-year-old defeat Ramadan, he could be closing in on a chance to fulfil his declared goal of challenging, and defeating, WBF World Welterweight Champion Bethuel Ushona from Namibia. That would be quite an accomplishment, and, powerful as he is, not at all unrealistic.

Also on the show, labelled "Thunder Night" and promoted by Louaa Boxing Promotions and LB Sports Promotions in association with Fitbox, two undefeated local boxers will clash for the vacant WBF All Africa Middleweight title, as Ayman Ashour and Waleed Tawfek are set for an intriguing encounter.

Egyptian Middleweight Champion Ashour is 6-0 (3) since turning professional in February of 2016, and Tawfek, coming up in weight after winning the Egyptian Super Welterweight crown in his last outing, is 4-0 (2) in a stop-start career that started in May of 2015.
